Why Young Men Need To Learn To Be Vulnerable
This takes ultimate courage.
Weakness
Don’t show too much of yourself.
Always put up a wall.
If people know too much about you, they will take advantage of your insecurities.
These are some of the things I was led to believe as a young man.
And all they did was make me more lonely, and made it harder to connect with other humans.
It’s no secret now that men take their lives 3 times more than women do.
You can make an argument that this has to do with our biological predispositions, but I believe the main reason is that women get the social support they need to end up not going through with the act.
Isolation is a fast track to ruining your mental health.
And if we keep reinforcing the idea that men have to show toughness in the form of stoicism or anger at all times, men will continue to remain closed off, and dominate the rates of taking their own lives.
The trend stops when we as men, start to spread the idea that vulnerability is strength.
Because it is.
I’ve aired out a boatload of my grievences, pains, heartbreaks, and depressive episodes on the internet.
There is, of course, limits to what I feel comfortable sharing, and there’s plenty of things I DON’T share because it would be unproductive to.
But all I’ve experienced from what has been shared, are deeper connections with my audience, and the people I’m surrounded by in real life.
Everyone in the modern world is desperate for some humanity. For someone to come up to them, be open to them, and let them express themselves without judgement.
There is no humanity without vulnerability.
And seeing each other’s cracks for what they are—a representation of the struggles we’ve all gone through, and conquered—let’s us know we are never alone in this life.
Be the person who others can lean on. Show people that vulnerability leads to self awareness. Self awareness leads to acceptance. Acceptance leads to action. And action leads to strength.
By sharing something human about yourself, it will break down the walls of those who you want to connect with, and give them the opportunity to do the same.
There will always be people who do not yet understand themselves, who get caught up in superficialities, and are afraid of looking within, who will try to exploit your kindness or vulnerability.
And that’s fine. If someone is not at the level of maturity where they can understand the power of vulnerability, simply distance yourself from them, and move on.
The one who has no idea who they are because they numb themselves through anger, rage, and hate, is not strong.
The one who can be kind, and still share their truth, despite everything they’ve gone through, despite all the people that made them suffer, is truly strong.
Courage is strength. And being vulnerable, despite knowing what might happen, despite the fear of letting others know who you are, is one of the most courageous acts you can do.
I’ve realized more than ever how important it is to create a space where people can open up about their issues without judgement, and get help from their community.
And that is why I created my Self Mastery School.
Self Mastery School is a place for those who want to actualize their greatest potential, strengthen their self awareness, and connect with like-minded, down-to-earth humans.
When you join the school, you’ll get access to:
Full length courses/eBooks (including my Ultimate Self Mastery Course)
Weekly coaching calls and lectures (related to self-awareness, making money online, social skills, fitness, etc.)

It’s a place for those who feel like they can’t talk to anyone about self-improvement in real life, and are trying to find their tribe.
The friendships in there feel genuine.
And I have a feeling you’re going to find your tribe in there, too.
