Why City Living Is Making You Stressed and Anxious
Urbanization has caused us to become disconnected from the natural world.
I’ve recently noticed a pattern.
Every time rain is approaching (but the clouds haven’t yet gotten dark) I get a slight headache.
The significance of this didn’t strike me as important until I watched the Netflix movie, “The King”.
In the movie, England is about to fight a France cavalry that is far more prepared in both size and strength. But England’s chief military strategist, John Falstaff, comes up with an idea.
He suggests it is going to rain overnight. And since the French army will be using horses/heavy armor, they can entrap them while they’re having difficulty moving through the muddy field.
How did John Falstaff know it was going to rain overnight?
He states: “My right knee is aching. It only does that when rain is near.”
This made me think: How many other parts of ourselves have we become completely desensitized to because of our reliance on technology for answers?
Because I would’ve never noticed my headache/rain pattern had I not stopped habitually checking the weather app.
When’s the last time you felt truly connected to your whole being? When’s the last time your body and brain felt like they were telling you the truth?
If you constantly feel stressed, anxious, and numb to the world, it’s likely you are in a dysregulated state induced by modern city living.
There’s a reason why you can instantly tell which room in the picture below is more relaxing and beautiful.

Room 2 is more in accordance with nature.
When you live more in accordance with nature, and you spend more time crafting an environment that replicates it’s beauty, (or, actually get out into nature more) you will naturally find the answers that you are constantly seeking from the internet or other people.
You will be reconnected back to your bodily sensations and intuitions, that tell you when it’s time to rest, what path you should take, and who you should listen to.
You are just as much everything outside of you as you are everything inside of you.
It doesn’t feel that way because:
We’re spending more time unnatural environments
You don’t have voluntary control over anything but your physical body
But the outside world’s impact can be felt in every moment you spend within your body. The two mutually coexist, and work together to shape your perspective of all things.
Start making a conscious effort to surround yourself with things that came out of this world by default, and you just might find that you start to notice your own patterns and insights—just like my rain headaches, or John Falstaff’s aching knee.
How To Grow Naturally
Growth is supposed to feel as effortless as brushing your teeth.
We are made to enjoy problem solving just as much as we enjoy resting and relaxing.
The reason you don’t is because you are so misaligned with how we were always meant to be living.
I wanted more people to experience the massive shift I experienced in my life when I started reconnecting back to who I truly am, that led me to become the most mentally, physically, and financially strong I’ve ever been.
And that is why I created my community, Self Mastery School.
Self Mastery School is a place for those who want to actualize their greatest potential, strengthen their self awareness, build better habits, and break the cycle of self-sabotage.
When you join the school, you’ll get access to:
Full length courses/eBooks
Weekly coaching calls and lectures (related to self-awareness, making money online, social skills, etc.)

“To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves.”
